F u r t h e r i ng Your Career in Business Continuity Management (BCM) and BC Management 2008 Benchmarking Study

As business continuity management becomes more vital so are its practitioners. This month’s speaker will provide valuable insights and leading practices regarding planning and managing the next steps in the careers of business continuity management professionals. Learn about emerging trends and leading practices to improve one’s skill-sets and marketability, professional certifications, and credentials that are in demand. Also, receive copies of the 2008 BC Management benchmarking reports and participate in a discussion on annual compensation and program benchmarking. The 2008 BC Management compensation report is incredibly helpful in assessing compensation for new hires as well as experienced business continuity professionals. The BC Management 2008 benchmarking report is invaluable to business continuity professionals in assessing salary trends, associated budgets, the impact of certification on business continuity personnel as well as associated BCM Program benchmarking trends.

About the Speaker: Cheyene Haase

President of BC Management, Cheyene Haase has been an executive recruiter for nine years with six of those years specializing in the business continuity field. Her career as an executive recruiter began in Madison, Wisconsin shortly after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree. In Madison she placed professionals at all levels from programmers, accountants to professors. Shortly after moving to southern California in 1998; she joined Management Recruiters International where she immediately began recruiting in the business continuity field. Cheyene quickly recognized that the business continuity field was getting lost within the large umbrella of Management Recruiters International. She decided to forge a new company solely dedicated to the business continuity field; thus she founded BC Management, Inc. in 2000. Cheyene has become an integral part of the business continuity community serving on the board of the Association of Contingency Planners of Los Angeles and Orange County as well as the Continuity Insights Editorial Advisory Board. She has also served as a public speaker at industry related events.

Round Table Discussion Leader: Marty Plevel

Marty Plevel is a Senior Manager in the Advisory Services Practice at KPMG LLP. In his current role, Marty is the KPMG Project Manager for the Continuity Insights/KPMG Business Continuity Management Benchmarking Survey. He currently serves as the Vice-President of the New York City Metro Chapter of the Association of Contingency Planners (ACP). Marty also serves as the service provider co-chair on the Financial Services Technology Consortium (FSTC) Business Continuity Standing Committee. He is on the Continuity Insights Editorial Advisory Board and the Steering Committee for the International Public-Private Sector Preparedness Summit sponsored by the International Center for Emergency Preparedness (InterCEP). Marty has an MBA from the Stern School at NYU and a BS in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
